ST. PATRICK'S DAY
Hi there! We had an exciting week just before the Easter holidays!
Students from 1º ESO, Jarifa High School, visited us on Friday the 18th. We made a performance for them and shared activities just after the break.... It was an engaging and wonderful experience for our students and I´m sure they will remember it for a long time... We´ll have to do it again next year! Thanks to all the teachers and our students for all the effort they put into it... Here are some videos and photos. I hope you´ll enjoy them!
First of all, we received them with a parade-dance, to the rhythm of Irish music (Capercaille), in which the whole primary school participated...
Later, they all sang the song " I'm a little leprechaun dressed in green", with 1º & 2º primary school students dressed as leprechauns, dancing the tune...
Class 4ºA (primary school) recited, then, a poem they learned about "Five little leprechauns"...
We also had a game going on... The high school students, 6º& 4ºA played the game: "Leprechaun, where is your clover?... In circles, with a student in the centre, a clover is hidden and the student in the middle has to guess who´s got it...
Afterwards, to end the activities, those students participated in a "Treasure Hunt", with clues in English, where the prize was a little surprise Irish bag with a rainbow and a pot of gold... ;)
They loved it!!
We also had a lot of fun with the preparations... the previous days...

Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day
There´s no better way to begin this new school blog than showing the activities we prepared for thanksgiving.
Art-crafts:
Every class in the school made an art-craft related to the Thanksgiving festivity: turkeys, indian hairbands, thank-you notes, pilgrims bookmarkers...
Worksheets:
They also work on the thanksgiving history and vocabulary in English and art classes through worksheets like these...
Brian, our linguistic auxiliary, made a powerpoint about the history of the first thanksgiving, as well as telling the students how it is celebrated nowadays. He also included personal photos of his recents Thanksgiving celebrations with his family and friends.
The Thanksgiving play:
This play represents the first Thanksgiving Day. It was done by forth year of primary school students and the whole school came to the canteen to watch them. The costumes were made by some of their parents.
Here you have a video and some photos from parts of it.
Black Friday (Autumn desserts and cakes):
On Friday every student had a ticket to exchange for a piece of cake... or several, due to the big response we had to this initiative, in which the students and their families cooked Autumn desserts to be shared with the rest of the school.
That´s what we call a nice Black Friday!
